HIGH SCHOOL CHEERLEADING TRYOUT SIGNUP SHEET IS IN THE DISTRICT OFFICE on Kendra Zafuta’s desk. Sign up by March 13th. Cheerleader tryout practices will be Wednesday, March 25th, Thursday, March 26th and Friday, March 27th from 7:00 am - 7:45 am and tryouts are at 6:00 pm Friday, March 27th.

KS National Guard RIse Up Youth Rally will be held at LifeTrack Church on March 25 from 6-8:00pm. This is open to grades 6-12 and admission is free. There will be live music, guest speaker, climbing wall, joust pit. For more information, contact the local National Guard Office.

American Legion Scholarships The Kansas American Legion has several scholarships available. To see the list and find applications, go to www.ksamlegion.org. Click on Scholarships, select the scholarships you wish to view and print off the application. Various Deadlines.


Kansas Junior Golf Scholarship Available to students who have participated in high school golf-this is an academic scholarship based on performance, leadership, a written essay and financial need. Must attend a college in KS-$5000. Deadline is March 27. Go to www.kansasgolf.org/foundation/scholarships or emaiil foundation@kansasgolf.org.


KSCPA scholarship Major in accounting and attend a college in KS. Based on ACT and leadership. Go www.kscpa.org for more information and an application. Deadline to submit ACT scores is March 6, 2015.

Columbus Technical Campus-CCC Seniors interested in attending technical school at Columbus campus for Coffeyville Community College, see Mrs. Ketterman about a scholarship for Automotive, collision repair, welding, business and computer or health occupations.


State Scholarships Go to wwww.kansasregents.org to get applications for Kansas Student Aid scholarships.


Community National Bank & Trust/PSU Scholarship Must attend PSU. Based on Honors, awards, extra-curricular activities (school and community) and short essay. Deadline to apply March 16. Pick up an application from Mrs. Ketterman.


Knights of Columbus Local Scholarship Must be a registered member of Sacred Heart Parish. Based on leadership, academics, extracurricular activities and community service. Chosen by Knights of Columbus committee. This scholarship may be used at a post-secondary institution of your choice. Written application including an essay and two letters of reference is due March 31. Pick up an application from Mrs. Ketterman.


Frontenac Youth League Local Scholarschip Based on extra-curricular and/or community services activites during junior and senior years of high school, honors/awards, work experience, and involvement with FYL. Pick up an application from Mrs. Ketterman. Deadline is March 31.


Hunter Safety Education Class The class will be offered at PSU, Russ Hall, Room 409 on March 24, 26, and 28. Weekday class 6:00-9:30 and Sat. 8:00-Noon. The class is free. For more information contact 620-231-3173.


Frontenac Teachers' Association Scholarship Must plan to major in Education at an accredited college/university. Based on short essay. Deadline March 31 to return to Mrs. Ketterman. Applications available from Mrs. Ketterman on the school website.


Frontenac Education Foundation Service Scholarship The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize students who have demonstrated extraordinary service to others and made a difference by volunteering. It is the desire of the Frontenac Education Foundation that through this recognition, students will inspire others to follow their example of service and volunteerism. The award will be given to deserving students as selected by the scholarship committee. Scholarships range from $500 – $1,500. Criteria to apply is: Be a senior at Frontenac High School and be eligible to graduate in May of senior year Apply by April 1 and turn in completed application to Mrs. Ketterman Demonstrate a clear record of commitment to voluntary service Plan to attend a post-secondary institution and apply the scholarship to any accredited post-secondary program within three semesters of high school graduation. Applications are available on the school website or see Mrs. Ketterman.


Get Busy Livin' Scholarship Sponsored by the Dylan Meier Get Busy Livin' Foundation and given to Crawford County high school seniors who embody excellence in academics, school and community involvement, athletics and/or fine art achievements and a general desire to create self character and leadership. Pick up an application from Mrs. Ketterman. Deadline to submit application to Community Foundation of Southeast KS is March 31.


PSU Junior Jungle Day Students are invited to participate in Pittsburg State University’s JUNIOR JUNGLE DAY scheduled for Saturday, March 28th. Students may register online now at http://www.pittstate.edu/admission/. The event cost is only $10 for high school juniors and $10 per parent/guest.
