APPLICATIONS FOR FRONTENAC YOUTH LEAGUE UMPIRES/SCOREKEEPERS ARE IN THE OFFICE. THESE NEED TO BE RETURNED BY FRIDAY, APRIL 3. THERE IS A MANDATORY UMPIRE AND SCOREKEEPER MEETING AND TRAINING SATURDAY, APRIL 11, AT THE BALLPARK BY THE CONCESSION STAND FROM 9:30-11:00.


ENROLLMENT INFORMATION Any 8th-11th grade students who missed the enrollment meetings with Mrs. Ketterman needs to pick up an Enrollment Handbook asap. Faculty Advisor meetings will be April 6 from 2:00-3:10pm and Pre-enrollment will be April 13.


DANCE TEAM TRYOUTS WILL BE APRIL 8 AT 6:00 PM. PRACTICES WILL BE APRIL 6, 7 AND 8 FROM 7:00-7:45 AM.


High School State Assessments The 10th grade will be taking the ELA assessment during Comm. II classes beginning March 23. The 10th Grade will be taking the Math assessment April 7 and 8 during 1st and 2nd blocks in the gym. Juniors will be taking the History/Gov assessments the week of March 30 during American History classes. They will also be completing the MDPT assessment during Comm. III classes that week. Juniors will take the Science assessment during 1st block April 17 in the science rooms.


RAIDER 'SEASONED VETS' WRESTLING TOURNAMENT SATURDAY, MARCH 28 8:00-3:00 - NEW GYM


AUDITIONS FOR TWITCH BY STEPHEN GREGG WILL BE HELD MARCH 30 @ 3:25 PM in Ms. Curran’s room. This is a one-act play that will be performed April 29th during the Drama and Forensics showcase. There are speaking roles for 2 female and 2 male characters, plus one non-speaking role. Rehearsals will be held 3-4 days per week.

American Legion Scholarships The Kansas American Legion has several scholarships available. To see the list and find applications, go to www.ksamlegion.org. Click on Scholarships, select the scholarships you wish to view and print off the application. Various Deadlines.


State Scholarships Go to wwww.kansasregents.org to get applications for Kansas Student Aid scholarships.


Knights of Columbus Local Scholarship Must be a registered member of Sacred Heart Parish. Based on leadership, academics, extracurricular activities and community service. Chosen by Knights of Columbus committee. This scholarship may be used at a post-secondary institution of your choice. Written application including an essay and two letters of reference is due March 31. Pick up an application from Mrs. Ketterman.


Frontenac Youth League Local Scholarschip Based on extra-curricular and/or community services activites during junior and senior years of high school, honors/awards, work experience, and involvement with FYL. Pick up an application from Mrs. Ketterman. Deadline is March 31.


Frontenac Teachers' Association Scholarship Must plan to major in Education at an accredited college/university. Based on short essay. Deadline March 31 to return to Mrs. Ketterman. Applications available from Mrs. Ketterman on the school website.


Frontenac Education Foundation Service Scholarship The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize students who have demonstrated extraordinary service to others and made a difference by volunteering. It is the desire of the Frontenac Education Foundation that through this recognition, students will inspire others to follow their example of service and volunteerism. The award will be given to deserving students as selected by the scholarship committee. Scholarships range from $500 – $1,500. Criteria to apply is: Be a senior at Frontenac High School and be eligible to graduate in May of senior year Apply by April 1 and turn in completed application to Mrs. Ketterman Demonstrate a clear record of commitment to voluntary service Plan to attend a post-secondary institution and apply the scholarship to any accredited post-secondary program within three semesters of high school graduation. Get Busy Livin' Scholarship Sponsored by the Dylan Meier Get Busy Livin' Foundation and given to Crawford County high school seniors who embody excellence in academics, school and community involvement, athletics and/or fine art achievements and a general desire to create self character and leadership. Pick up an application from Mrs. Ketterman. Deadline to submit application to Community Foundation of Southeast KS is March 31.


PSU Junior Jungle Day Students are invited to participate in Pittsburg State University’s JUNIOR JUNGLE DAY scheduled for Saturday, March 28th. Students may register online now at http://www.pittstate.edu/admission/. The event cost is only $10 for high school juniors and $10 per parent/guest. Tammy Edge Memorial Raider Spirit Scholarship The scholarship will be awarded to one male and one female Frontenac High School senior who exemplify true Raider Spirit through involvement both in and outside of school.You may pick up an application from Mrs. Ketterman or access it from the school website. Deadline is March 31.


Girard Medical Center Scholarship Have a declared major in healthcare field, GPA of 2.5, ACT of 20 and letter of recommendation. Pick up application from Mrs. Ketterman. Deadline to apply is April 15.
